DNTU: Graduate Affairs Department Organizes 2026 Meeting with Supervisors and PhD Candidates – Strengthening Connections and Research Orientation
On the afternoon of March 14, 2026, the Graduate Affairs Office of Dong Nai Technology University held the first 2026 meeting between supervisors and PhD candidates, chaired by the Graduate Affairs Office at Meeting Room 1 - University Library.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Doan Manh Quynh – Head of the Graduate Affairs Office , along with supervisors and PhD candidates from the 2023–2027 and 2025–2028 cohorts.

Introducing the Faculty Team and Research Directions
At the event, the Graduate Affairs Office introduced the team of supervisors, including information on their expertise, workplace, and research fields. PhD candidates were also introduced along with their research topics and respective supervisors.
The research topics cover a wide range of fields, such as:
- green tourism development,
- human resource management,
- logistics management,
- public investment management,
- university governance, and digital transformation.
This reflects a multidisciplinary research direction closely tied to socio-economic practice.
Implementation of the PhD Training Program
Dr. Doan Manh Quynh presented an overview of the PhD training program, including:
- The training roadmap and implementation timeline
- Research stages from proposal to dissertation defense
- Important academic milestones such as:
- Doctoral coursework
- Literature review
- Seminar 1, Seminar 2
- Institutional-level and university-level defenses
According to regulations, the PhD training period is 3–4 years, with a maximum duration of no more than 6 years.

Academic Discussion and Experience Sharing
During the discussion, supervisors and PhD candidates exchanged views on many practical matters, such as:
- The timing and format of the proposal defense
- Progress on research seminars
- Effective methods for working with supervisors
- Developing an appropriate personal research plan
Supervisors also shared experience, emphasizing that proactivity and research discipline are decisive factors in a PhD candidate's success.

Direction for Improving Training Quality
In concluding the meeting, the Graduate Affairs Office emphasized several important requirements:
- PhD candidates need to develop a personal study and research plan
- Strengthen academic exchange with supervisors
- Ensure the required scientific publication outcomes are met
- Proactively manage time to complete the program on schedule
At the same time, the University will:
- Update training information, regulations, and forms
- Establish support groups for PhD candidates
- Hold periodic meetings every 6 months to track progress
In particular, PhD candidates are required to complete their personal study plans and submit them to the Graduate Affairs Office by April 30, 2026.

The meeting is an important activity in strengthening the connection between the University, supervisors, and PhD candidates, contributing to building a professional academic environment that effectively supports the PhD training process at DNTU.
